Results of Balaoing Memorial Cup
To celebrate Father's Day, MERALCO Chess Club held a rapid tournament to commemorate the death of one of the fathers of MERALCO chess - Atty. Jose "Ka Pepe" Balaoing. Ka Pepe was one of the top players of MERALCO during his prime and was the Team Manager of the MERALCO Chess Team in the now defunct ESAP Chess Tournament.

The results of this tourney was submitted by IA/NM Lao to the NCFP for rating purposes.
The win gave Ronnie an automatic slot to the Meralco Chess Team who is scheduled to play in the 2nd MVP Olympics in March 2011.
