Pau's performance here in Vietnam is the calm before the storm. My fearless forecast is that he will become a grandmaster soon. it is just a matter of time. Just look at his win in R1 and R3 vs the Vietnamese GM and IM, particularly the IM.

The game vs the Viet IM is a maller version of Fischer's Game of the Century. In Pau's game, he sacrificed THREE minor pieces! And Pau has just turned 14 years old.

FM Pau submitted the third best performance among the 11-man and boy PHL delegation tasked by NCFP and PSC to bring honor to our country.

Newly minted GM Oliver Barbosa was 1st with 6 pts. and PHL's first Super-GM Mark Paragua was 2nd with 5.5 pts. Pau also has 5.5 pts.
