Towards the last few years, to be exact 5 years, of NM Gerry's stay with MERALCO, he helped the MERALCO Chess Club launch its very first E-Day event in 2005 by conducting a simul for junior and senior players. He was very much involved in training his co-employees and also our kids. He helped Pau Bersamina prepare for his first international stint. He jumped started Rhal Sol Cruz training. And he shared his time and talent with the blind of PARALYMPICS and wheelchair-bound of Tahanan Walang Hagdanan by playing in simuls to raise funds for them.
