NM Gerry Cabellon returns to chess competition at GM Torre's Gathering of Kings & Knights last Dec 27. He landed tied for 3rd with IM Richard Bitoon. IM Nolte topped the event by beating GM Villamayor in the Finals.
Raul "Junior" Sol Cruz, Jr. played in the Women's/-Kiddies Group and was paired in R1 vs Stef Bagamasbad, varsity player of PUP. In th first-to-win-2 KO match, Junior lost G1, WON G2 (!!!), and drew in the Armagedon TB.
After the match, we proceeded to the airport to fetch Jeje, Camille and Pio.
