LSGH BET SOL CRUZ KAMPEON SA BATTLE OF MERALCO GRANDMASTERS

NAGKAMPEON SI LA SALLE GREENHILLS (LSGH) bet Raul "Rhal" Sol Cruz Jr. sa junior division ng 107th anniversary ng Meralco na tinampukang Battle of Meralco Grandmasters Chess Championships kahapon sa Jollye Fitness Center, Meralco head office sa Ortigas, Pasig City. Grade six pupil ng LSGH under kay head coach International Arbiter-National Master Erwin Carag, tinalo ni Sol Cruz ang lahat ng kanyang nakalaban sa five round Swiss-system event na pinangasiwaan ni National Master Eduardo Agagon.
Si Sol Cruz na katambal si fellow LSGH ace Giovanni "Gio" Mejia na kumuha ng team bronze medal sa NCR Palarong Pambansa representing Mandaluyong City ay tinalo sina Ronald Dimaguila, Amiel Christian Emata, Jose Lorenzo Maza, JC Andan at Elmer del Rosario ayon sa pagkakasunod.
Si Sol Cruz din ang kumuha ng silver medal sa 2010 Xavier Inter Scholastic grade school chess championships sa San Juan City.
Magkasalo naman sina High School bets Marc Alexis Marcalinas ng Binangonan, Rizal at Miguel Thaddeus Vergara ng Bocaue, Bulacan sa second at third placers na may tig identical 4 points.

MANILA, Philippines – La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) bet Raul “Rhal” Sol Cruz, Jr. captured the juniors title in the 107th anniversary of Meralco dubbed as the Battle of Meralco Grandmasters Chess Championships.
Sol Cruz, a Grade 6 pupil mentored by International Arbiter-National Master (NM) Erwin Carag, swept his all matches in the five-round Swiss-system on Saturday at the Meralco head office in Ortigas in Pasig City.
He bested Ronald Dimaguila, Amiel Christian Emata, Jose Lorenzo Maza, JC Andan and Elmer del Rosario in the event supervised by NM Eduardo Agagon.
High school bets Marc Alexis Marcalinas of Binangonan, Rizal and Miguel Thaddeus Vergara of Bocaue, Bulacan were the second and third placers, respectively, with 4 points each.
Sol Cruz, who teamed up with fellow LSGH ace Giovanni “Gio” Mejia, took the team bronze medal in this year's National Capital Region (NCR) Palarong Pambansa, representing Mandaluyong City.
