FIDE Master Paulo Bersamina cruised to 4 consecutive wins before settling for a draw with Justin Corpin of Roces Science & Technilogy HS in the final round to capture the 2nd San Lorenzo Ruiz Cup held at MERALCO in Pasig City over the weekend.
Corpin, the winner of the Leonardo Javier Memorial Cup held last month, settled for the silver medal while Clifford Cobsilen of San Isidro National HS edged out Mark Villarante of Ramon Magsaysay HS via TB for the bronze medal.
Joribene Bonifacio of National University won the Mercedes Villamayor-Mendoza Award for being the top female player.
