After the 5-round Swiss under International Arbiter Elias Lao, 3 players finished with identical 4 points a piece; Philip Buhat of Ramon Magsaysay High School, JC Andan of Ateneo de Manila University, and Rhal Sol Cruz Jr of La Salle Green Hills and a grandson of Casiano. The 3 collected the gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively, after the tie breaks were applied. Additionally, Philip won a P300 National Bookstore gift certificate and a specially made chess mat. The event was sponsored by the Sol Cruz family.
